Las Vegas weekend - Def Leppard concert x2!

We flew to Vegas on Friday morning, for the sole purpose of seeing Def Leppard perform at their Sin City Residency at the Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood on Friday evening. Vegas would not have been our first choice of destinations, but it was the only U.S. performance Def Leppard had in 2019.

We stayed at the Luxor, which is built like an Egyptian pyramid. We didn't get a picture of the structure or the sign, but here he is in front of the Sphinx.

This vantage point is standing in front of the Luxor waiting for our ride, looking over to the Mandalay Bay hotel next door, which is unfortunately where the 2017 shooting happened from. :(

We checked out both the "Titanic" and "Bodies" exhibitions which were in the lobby of the Luxor. Both were quite fascinating and well worth the price of admission. This picture also shows what the pyramidal structure of the hotel looked like from inside. It was dark. I would not like living in a pyramid. :) The elevator rides were also a little disconcerting because of the angles and corrections it had to make to ascend and descend to each floor.

We also attended a live comedy/pet show and ate supper at Blondie's Sports Bar & Grill, both located inside Planet Hollywood, before heading to the whole reason for this trip: Def Leppard!!!

It was a small theater .... and on top of that, we had amazing seats. This was our view.

So, how was the concert, you ask? OUTSTANDING!!!! This band is incredible. They put on one hell of a live show. There's truly nothing like it.

This was the final weekend of their residency and they were filming both the Friday and Saturday night performances to later be released on DVD, which was pretty cool.  We'll be able to relive our experience in its entirety.  And I truly mean, in its entirety..... because my YOLO husband turned around and bought tickets for us to see the Saturday night performance, too, as soon as we got back to the hotel from the Friday night performance. He loves me and spoils me!
