Lawrence Levee Trail -- Lawrence, KS

The long and hot bike ride. Lawrence levee trail, 13-1/2 miles, zero shade. 😁 His bike is in the shop with a broken spoke, so he rented one of the Veoride bike share bikes here in town. This ride was a bit of struggle bus for him and we shouldn't have gone as far as we did, but we made it back safely.

After-ride, mid-afternoon lunch at Ramen Bowls

Down the hatch, every last drop! We were starving!!!

Lawrence Loop Trail flooding -- Lawrence, KS

22-1/4 mile bike ride on the trails around town today. Couldn’t go quite to the end of the Clinton Lake trail because lake has gotten bigger and trail has gotten shorter.

Then, we encountered an ambulance on the floodplain portion of the trail. That was a first.

Glad we got started at 11:00 a.m. because by the end of the ride at 2:00 p.m. it felt like we were riding through a sauna.

30 Days of Biking Challenge

We decided to join the 30 Days of Biking Challenge, in which you "pledge to ride your bike every day in April — any distance, any destination — and share your adventures online. Hashtag #30daysofbiking."
For every 30 pledges, the organizers plan to donate 1 bike to Free Bikes 4 Kidz.
